I Optimized My Vitamin D3 Blood Levels With Pure Supplements


I had my Vitamin D blood level tested on June 7th, 2016 and it was 40 ng/mL. That isn't terribly low but much lower than 60 to 80, my target range. I started BS D3, 5,000 IUs, on June 23, 2016. I'm taking it in the morning with NOW Vitamin K2-MK4 and NOW Vitamin A. In the evening, I take BS Mg Cit. BS D3 is the only brand that I've taken that doesn't make my extremities swell up. I buy nearly all of my supplements from BS because they contain no fillers (unless it's absolutely necessary to make the supplement measurable). Also, any supplement that contains Magnesium Stearate makes my extremities swell up. Because I buy so many supplements in powder form, I purchased a milligram scale on eBay.


PS: I'll get my D3 blood level checked again in a couple of months and let you know if my levels have increased.


PPS: It's VERY important to take the cofactors with D3. Go to the Vitamin D Council website and learn as much as you can about how to take D3. PLEASE don't ignore the information about the cofactors and PLEASE don't take Vitamin D without them. For me, the most important cofactor is Vitamin K2-MK4. PLEASE don't make the same mistake that I did by taking D3 alone, not even a small amount.


UPDATE 01/24/17: My Vitamin D level is 53 ng/mL. I've lately been taking about 1000 IUs of Vitamin D daily. I got lazy about measuring.
